my computer seems to have a weird issue when i'm trying to surf any site on the Yahoo network. here is the FIFA World Cup main page (powered by Yahoo). notice the address that the link points to. an url, then an asterisk, then another url.

when I click on such a link, it just puts that combined url in the address bar, tried to load it for a second, then nothing happens. in Opera, it simply remains at the original (referring) page. in IE it brings up a 404 error screen.

if i delete everything up to and including the asterisk, the page loads as normal. this, however, is annoying as crap. as noted, this problem occurs both in IE and Opera, but only on Yahoo-affiliated sites. anyone have any idea whats going on?
