Weird prob with TV card maybe???

First off, let me say that my WinFast 2000 Deluxe had been working perfectly.

I bought a Logitech MX510 and got it in yesterday. I uninstalled the drivers for the MX500 (previous mouse), shut down, plugged the MX510 in the PS2 port (which is what my MX500 had been on as well), powered up, and installed the MX510 drivers. Then I adjusted the mouse settings, etc.

I started up WinFast (WF) and put it on Ch. 13. There's a bunch of static in the sound. The picture is perfect. I checked out all of the other channels and they're all fine with no static. I was only getting sound static on Ch. 13.

I checked all my connections to make sure nothing had come lose. Everything was fine and the way it should be. Restarted comp anyway just to make sure. Still same static problem on Ch. 13. I checked the seating on the card and it's fine also.

Channel 13 is fine on my regular TV BTW.

What could be causing the static on this one channel on my computer?

Thanks ahead of time.

assuming this wasnt there before, and you really havnt done anythign since, try rolling back to the day of or before you installed the mouse, but it really sounds like the mouse isnt the problem. I would blow away the drivers for the card and re install them. Strange it would only be on ONE channel, how about hooking it to another cable from another outlet?

Could be your source for the TV card is just picking up static somewhere, if it's only one channel did you try calling your local channel 13 and ask if they are having audio issues? 🙂 Silly I know.

If your TV card uses a line connector from the tv card to your sound card, maybe just try wiggling the connection around, sometimes static can come from the weirdest places...

Good luck,
A.

lol mice mess up everything huh??? when i use the center roller to scroll i get a squeek on my speakers. just too lazy to fix. Just a couple of things:

1) the channel really could be having issues
2) is it a common problem w/ this video card? Check online about it.
3) I don't think you said you uninstalled the mouse drivers? which I have no clue but might have done something crazy
4) it's sad to see upgrading to such a nice mouse would cause you so many problems. 🙁

Not sure what happened but everything's perfect now.

Came home from work today and turned it on and no static on Ch. 13! 🙂

Thanks for all the help guys. I really appreciate it.
