Weird pain in my jaw/ear...

All of today I've had this weird pain on the left side of my head. Its like, deep in my ear, where my jaw bones meet up, so I cant tell if its an ear problem, or a muscle problem with my jaw. Anyways, its just overall somewhat painful when i move my mouth. When i move my lower jaw to the right (top stays still), i hear this fuzzy/popping noise in my left ear (so, the muscle is getting stretched, causing this sound). When i bite down it kinda *resets* it, and hurts a bit. I know i've had this before, but really have no idea what the heck it is. Any ideas?

you could try cracking your jaw.. I do it a couple times a day and find it to be perfect relief every time.. no matter how sore my jaw is.

just move your jaw back and forth using your jaw muscles (not your hands) and it should pop by your ears

when i do that, i hear the popping noise in my left ear only, and it hurts like a mofo

I can help you solve it in under 5 seconds.

Grab your ear really tight and pull it outwards, pull is so hard that you start to scream and then suddenly a crack sound, your ear muscle will relax, instant relief.

I don't know if its dangerous or not, i often feel pain in my ears, so i just take a dry cloth, grip my ear realy hard and an instant pull, it gets red but a thick tick sound....

and don't grab the lower part of the ear, thats nasty, grab it from the middle and pull 90 degrees. More like commanding a goat tearing its ears.

I'm not sure his advice is good. I would ask a doctor, because intentionally cracking your jaw potentially might make it worse. I have TMJ, and the only thing that really helps me is to take an anti-inflammatory medicine. You don't want it to get worse - TMJ might be the end-all answer that recent "what is the worst pain you have ever felt" thread.

and, its not really a popping noise that I hear in my left ear...its more of a, crunching sound....but light crunching, not like something breaking, maybe like sandpaper on a table or something
