hey my computer for about 3 days now has been making this weird noise and its not very quiet. it sounds like one of my fans is chopping at some wires or something but none of my wires are close to any fans...it just started making this noise one day when i left it on when i went to school. it sounded fine when i left, but when i came back i had a blue screen saying there was a hardware malfunction or something and my computer was making this noise. now every time i boot it up it makes this noise... sometimes when i leave it making the noise for a minute or two after it boots up, the noise stops... i took the video card and processor out and checked them to see if anything was wrong. i found nothing so i put them back in.
can anyone help me out?

I've had PSUs that made really high pitched whining noises when they couldn't handle the load of a system well enough. I wouldn't say it sounds like fanblades hitting wires though, I had that happen just a few days ago with an Intel retail HSF that had the wires wrapped up way too tightly, just shut down and loosened em and it went away. Can you make a .wav of the sound?

hmm so a psu problem? could it be the psu fan or just the psu in general? should i just replace it? i thought 400W would be enough for my system when i built it. i never overclocked my processor but i did unlock my card to 16 pipes. sorry for the newb questions :p
