I have a quite large number of .mp3 files that will not playback with Windows Media Player. They are fine when listening through iTunes or Winamp, but not with WMP.
The only thing I can see different between them is in the properties for each file. The working file shows all of the tagging/advanced info, whereas the file without playback has no advanced info.
Both are MPEG 1 Layer III.
Broken file: 64kBit/s 44.1 kHz 03:49:02
Working file: 112 kBit/s 44.1 kHz 03:14:41
There are other files in my archive that are 64kBit/s and will play using WMP.
Where should I start to investigate what's going on with these certain files?
