Weird memory card problem

I have a sony memory card that I borrowed from a friend to take on vacation. It has a little switch on it that switches between 2 256 meg cards inside of a single stick. I don't know why they have it that way, but they do. Anyways, I have pictures on both sticks and can view them on the camera, but when I plug it into a memory card reader on my computer I can only read one side. Side A says it is not formatted, while side B allows me to get pictures from the memory card. I tried plugging the camera into the computer directly, but it sees the memory card as a drive still and says the drive is not formatted. Anyone run across this issue before I get in the Sony live help-line queue?
