Weird little XP bug

I have this weird little problem that I haven't been able to solve with a reinstall, which tells me it's probably my software. The problem is that after the computer is on for awhile, I sometimes can't click out of a window. The active window will remain active even after I select another window to become active. The same thing happens with palettes and panels within applications. For example, when using Adobe Illustrator CS, I can't select different shapes or tools. It's quite annoying. I've tried killing off different programs to see what's causing it, with no luck. Even tried a fresh install of XP. I typically have about 50 apps installed on my computer with 50 to 60 processes running (2ghz a64/2gb ram). I don't have Limewire or BT or any of that crud to muck up my computer. I just don't get what's causing this. Has anyone else experienced this?

A few things I thought might have triggered it, but didn't solve the problem when they were killed off:
-Logitech MouseWare (MX510 mouse)
-LogiGamer (mouse button macro software)
-StrokeIt (mouse gestures)
-Macro Express (keyboard macros)
-RMClock (processor speed control)
-ShuttleXpress software (hardware video editing tool, macro control for the tool)
-AVG anti-virus
-ZoneAlarm
-KeyNote (from Tranglos software)
-Picasa 2
-Taskbar++

Can't figure this out, really is an annoyance because I have to restart periodically to solve it. Any ideas or suggestions?

lol... let's see..
Get rid of any logitech software. ASAP.
Get rid or disable StrokeIt.
Also get rid of ZoneAlarm because it's a worthless pile of crap...

Windows likes to break. Especially when you install things. It's just the way Windows is.

You say Zone Alarm is worthless.

Can you give me some reasons why you say this ?

Thanks.

It's not; I've been using it for years. In addition to be a good firewall, it's a fantastic access control app. Plus it's free 😀

I updated everything to the latest version, which I suspect may be the problem. StrokeIt isn't the problem, since I've used it on several computers without this quirk. I use ZoneAlarm on every PC I work on, so that's not it. I've tried disabling LogiGamer, but that didn't solve the problem. Might be MouseWare, but I haven't had problems with it in the past. Besides, I need MouseWare to run LogiGamer. I'd really hate to lose LogiGamer, it's so useful in Firefox, Illustrator, etc.
