i have a toshiba a75-s206 laptop and have never used the battery for it for a long time( have alway used just the ac adapter). today i go try the battery and charge it up. when i disconnect the ac adapter, the battery stays at 100-95% for a while and it jumps down to 6% and the low battery warning comes up. what do you guys think could be wrong with the battery

If it does that when using the right (factory or equivalent) charger then the battery is simply failing. It can be refurbished (or simply you could buy a new one), they slice the battery housing open and replace the accumulators then reseal it again. Nothing incredibly special. Ofc it's up to you I have no idea of the prices overseas.
