Weird job application questions...

I'm filling out the last two questions on my application for this job and look at these:

Complete the sentence and explain: "If I were a piece of software ..."

and

Hippopotamus is to palm tree as toasted is to...


WTF?!~!! :Q

I have no idea what to write.
 
Just to get a judge on your creativity. If they do call you for an interview they'll ask you why you wrote down what you wrote. If you put down "Windows 98" as the piece of software, they'd probably assume you were unreliable and cracks easy under pressure. Be careful of what you write down.
 
Alternative answers:
#1: ...a trojan. I enter through a back door when they least expect it.
#2: ...describe how drunk I was at my last job.

If I were a piece of software I would work as expected everytime because software that doesn't work correctly is frustrating and takes up valuable company resources.

Hippopotamus is to palm tree as toasted is to me as soon as I get off work.
 
A Hippopotamus has ivory canines and palm trees have ivory nuts (if they are ivory palms). Not sure where to go from there.

If I were a piece of software... well that one is a bit easier. If I were a piece of software I would be treated as a slave by the evil MCP and forced to play games instead of serving the purpose that my user, who is a godlike entity, wishes me to serve.

Hippos stay submerged in water to cool off and palm trees grow near water (mainly coastal). So if the crucial ingredient is water, what is the crucial ingredient in toasting something? 😕
