weird issue with firefix/ IE

This is really strange, but when i open up an IE window and type in a url and hit enter, it opens up firefox and browses to that url.

how do i disable this? some prehistoric site i need to use only supports IE, and while i've tried using ietab it doesn't do the trick as it has some limitations.

any suggestions as to how to make IE work? I tried running the repair tool given by microsoft in some KB or other but that didn't do it.

In Firefox ... Tools, Extensions ... first check for Updates to the Extension .. IE TAB is at V 1.09
Next, add the URL of the site you want to use IE TAB with .. Then go the External App Tab
and be sure the Path is pointing to where IE6 is really installed on your computer ... then click
on the Use Internet Explorer Button ... Hit Apply, then OK out

That should fix it ..... FYI: Firefox is now at V 1.5.0.3

tried updating extensions, including IE tab. uninstalled IE tab too to see if it'd help. have the latest firefox. also tried installing user agent switcher and ran firefox with the IE agent, still no luck.

I finally gave up tryign to fix it and just installed IE v 7 beta, which seems to have fixed the issue, plus the stupid site works on it.

guess it'll do!
