I use dual monitors on my 7800GTX and recently it started having an interesting issue. The Analog monitor I have shows up as monitor #1 in display properties and the Digital 2001FP i have is showing up as monitor #2. My problem is that with more recent drivers like 81.85 drivers, I cant get the monitor numbers to change so Windows and DirectX always treat the analog monitor as the first one. What is weird is that on some games, the game will not allow a higher resolution than 1280X1024 (highest resolution of the second analog monitor - Dell 171FP). Now dont get me wrong, the 2001FP is running the games in it's window, and the primary display monitor is set to the 2001FP, but it still numbers the monitor as #2 instead of #1. I dont get what is going on now. This didnt use to happen and all my games could run in 1600X1200. Also changing the order of the cables physically on the back of the video card made no difference. Everything pretty much works but in those games that I cant raise the resolution, it is obviously annoying to run in non-native 1280X1024 on the 2001FP... Anyone seen this before? Quite odd... Anyway to force the DVI before the Analog Monitor or change the actual # order???
My setup:
AMD FX-57
MSI K8N Neo4 SLI Platinum
EVGA 7800GTX KO (Nvidia 81.85 WHQL drivers)
Dell 171FP (17" Flat Panel) Analog Only Connector (On left)
Dell 2001FP (20" FLat Panel) DVI Digital (On right)
Windows XP SP2 Pro
Thanks for the help in advance...
