Weird iPod problem

I have a 10 gig 2nd generation iPod.. Since I have both a mac and a PC I purchased the mac version and use ephpod and MacOpener to add tunes to it on my pc. I load most of my tunes onto it using my G4 and iTunes (converted to AAC using iTunes) but now have a weird probleming adding MP3s from my PC.. The MP3s are listed on my pod butt refuse to play (they list the album, song titles but skip the tracks when I select them) - does the iPod not work well with mixed content (Some mp3s some AAC?)? Anyone know what codec mac uses (the standard AAC codec does NOT work when I try to playback my iPOd tunes on my pc).. Thanks for any info..

i have a problem similar to this.

i use a pc/ephpod to load music on my ipod, but when i connected it to a mac (to upload some files), it started to do the same thing yours does. it will load a song, but then skip right to the next song. perhaps it has something to do with sharing between mac/pc?

When it skips a song, it means that the iPod did not find the song at the location the song DB specified. Why it's having that problem is anyone's guess.

I only use mine with macintoshes, and have never had this problem. I have a mixture of MP3 and AAC files, so it's probably a windows/mac thing.
