weird internet connection problems

Ok for the past week something weird is going on with the internet programs on my computer. I have zonealarm as a firewall and norton antivirus. Everything will work fine while I am using it at first. Then i will leave for some reason and maybe come back in an hour or two. When i get back and try to goto some websites it wont load. It cant find the address that i type it...Occasionaly when i come back it will only be able to find one website and no others.

I have comcast broadband cable but that cant be the problem because all other internet programs work. Its not just one browser either since both firefox and explorer wont work. Could it be my firewall doing something weird? I have tried shutting it off when it starts not working but that doesnt fix it either. The only way to fix it is to restart the computer.

Any ideas?

i am not sure if it would be the firewall, but it might be the case. the last time i used zonealarm, i had similar problems, but i don't remember which version of ZA i used. (it was about 2 years ago.) my internet would work fine, and then i would go to class, come back a few hours later, and find that i had no more internet. killing the firewall didn't seem to work either.

you might also want to try another firewall, such as sygate or kerio (i haven't tried kerio, but i hear good things about it).
