Weird IM habit?

I just noticed that when I send an Instant Message to somebody, I say the words that I'm typing out, as if I were actually talking to the person. Anybody else like this?

I only do that when I have other people around me. It's like I'm trying to include them in my conversation that I'm having with someone online.
