Weird HDTV problem

I have a geforce 6800 hooked up through vga to my lcd television at it's native res of 1366*768. The DVI end is on my computer monitor. For some reason I get these weird, somewhat noticeable, lines that go up and down. It looks like magnetic interference almost, it's not easy to spot at a glance but when your watching a movie or something it get's extremely annoying. I've tried connecting the tv through vga to a few other computers and none of them seem to have the same issue, so i don't think it's the cable. I checked the refresh rate to make sure it's supported. Does anyone know if there are some settings I can tweak to get rid of this issue?
 
try using the component cables instead of the VGA. make sure your drivers are working. also...download the trial of Nvidia Pure video (or whatever its called) and see if that helps. It could be you decoder (ex. pure video), your tv might not like it in general (often the prob).
I had the same problem with the vista drivers on my tv, went back to xp and no problem.
I have a 55" mitsubishi and use component cables for media center and have no problems(using a 6600gt). My guess is the cables or the tv.
 
I have the same native resolution. I don't know if this is the same problem, but when I first got the monitor, I had lines at the bottom of my screen that were only really noticable when I watch movies that were dark. It turned out that all I needed to do was adjust the position of the image in the screen with the tv's on-screen menus.
 
Thanks for the response guys, i tried a few different drivers but still have the same issue.... It's not just staticy lines on the bottom that i think your refering to though, cdh. I think i might try getting an ATI card see if that's any different, have you guys generally had better experiences with tv out on ATI cards?
 
As weird as it sounds, try disabling your soundcard drivers.. i've had a similar issues before, my soundcard would create interference on my VGA output.. See if you still have the same problem. Also are you using a well-shielded VGA cable and how long is it? that may be an issue as well, since you're dealing with an analog signal (VGA). Also try connecting another monitor to that VGA port see if you get the same result.
