Weird graphics problem - 8800 to 9800

After much thinking and research I decided to pull the trigger on a small video card upgrade. I was running an EVGA 8800 GTS 320mb with no problems, mainly playing BF2142, and COD4, all on high settings. I went with a MSI 9800GT 512, mainly because I am running a MSI p6n Mobo, and would like to overclock but only wanted to use the MSI dual core utility (which is worthless, MSI has totally dissapointed me)

After installing the card, and updating all the VGA drivers I tested the new setup out in BF2142. First thing I noticed, was a total white out in some spots of the game. I adjusted the settings from high to medium, and now I get an almost pixelated type of reaction when I die, or hit a white out spot. There are little green boxes across the screen, and they dissapear after I die.

I was heart broken, and installed the EVGA back in, only to see the same results (I did not roll back the drivers or delete them before I took the MSI out).
My question is,.. Did I spend $100 to downgrade, or do I have some kind of driver issues? In the MSI instructions, it never told me to delete the VGA drivers, just to install the card so I did as directed. Can I delete the current VGA drivers I have, and reinstall my EVGA card with no problems so I can at least go back to playing normally like I was?

I'm just frustrated, and mad because every time I try to upgrade something, it goes wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.

My other info:
600W Xion Supernova
MSI p6N Sli Mobo
E6800 Duo Core CPU
4 GB
80GB x 4 in raid 0
fatality titanium champ

Nothing is overclocked, everything is running in stock form.

You should almost always clean the old drivers before putting a new card in. Try cleaning out all the vga drivers on your system, then put the MSI in (assuming you still have it) and then install the new drivers, if that doesn't fix anything repeat the process with your 8800. And if it STILL doesn't work, then post back here.

It won't let me delete any of the drivers. It sends up an error saying that what I'm trying to delete, the system needs to boot up.

So no go on deleting the drivers. I've tried reinstalling the newest drivers again, and no changes. Still get that choppy pixelated look in spots of the game.

Picture of whats happening

I used that to delete the drivers, and reinstalled the newest from nvidia.. same results.
I did get a screen capture though,.. anyone have any ideas whats going on here?

I'm close to sending this card back, and buying something else.

Wow, that is worse than I thought. You can also try turning your your Hardware acceleration down. If that fixes it.. you might need to reformat. I had major issues with my card, turned down HA then ended up reformatting and saw that if fixed everything.

Try it. It wont hurt anything.
Right click desk top > Properties > Settings Tab > Advanced > Trouble Shooting Tab > Adjust down

See if that helps... sadly, if it does, then you might need to reformat or get a new card. Thats my 2 cents. There are way smarter folks on here than me. =)

eh, how did you uninstall the original card?, device manager>uninstall>add\remove> driver software uninstall, shut down, replace hardware, start>install new drivers?

Unless you have a dud card?

I tried it every which way,.. I'm almost thinking its this p.o.s. MSI card. I had major go-arounds with my mobo in the past and trying to upgrade, and a 6600 series MSI back in the day that gave me fits as well. So Im done with MSI.

I have fixed the problem though,.. finally got the drivers all uninstalled, and went back with my tried and true EVGA 8800GTS. I guess I'm gonna stick with it for now until COD5 comes out and see if maybe I need to bump to a GTX.. EVGA of coarse.

Thanks for your help guys, but I chalk this one up to experience, and not gonna buy another MSI product again.
