weird graphics issues

recently noticed some weird issues when playing games like farcry and counterstrike- sometimes in game weird barcode lines appear, or colored smudges and dirt marks pop up in random locations. minimizing and restoring sometimes gets rid of it, but i'm looking for a more permanent solution.

counterstrike was fine before, but after i installed farcry i started noticing this occuring in both games, not really sure of the cause. i updated my 9800 pro with the latest omega drivers, tried reboots, etc. I don't overclock either my cpu or my card, i'm not sure what it could be. some incompatibility issue with farcry maybe? but why would it affect counterstrike too, which had previously been running fine.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated 😛

I would guess it's a heat issue.
Try underclocking your RAM and see what happens.

IIRC I got similar issues on my 9800 non-pro when I overclocked the RAM too far. Reducing the clock helped.
If this is the cause of the problem, either RMA or get some better cooling.

sounds like you got a bad card to me i would rma that thing esp since you did not oc it. that card should get no errors at all ever at stock speeds if it were me i would get another one.
good luck

Try the DNA or offical drivers. The omega drivers are terrible, as well as continually benching lower than others.

My guess is overheating. Something similar happened to me several years ago--When I opened the case, the heatsink was dangling from the CPU!

(This was back when loss of heatsink was not a catastrophic event 😀 )
