OK, here's the situation. Bought a Hercules GF3, got it on Friday, replaced ram heatsinks and set them with AS epoxy. Added some AS to the GPU. Worked fine Friday and Sat, ran a couple 3DMark2001 loops and played some Q3A, no prob. Started having probs last night with Media Player crashing, didn't think much of it. This morning the card is giving me all sorts of fits. Display gets corrupted with weird ASCII characters, Windows will crash, sometimes not even boot. Yanked out the GF3, put my GF2 Ultra back in, everything works again. Any ideas? Did I break something when I swapped heatsinks or is the card just bad and it took 48 hours for the problems to manifest? Feedback greatly appreciated. BTW system setup is my sig.

well if it was oc'ed, i would say "dont do it" but its not, so im guessing your card just gave up on you or its a driver issue, well i hope you fix it some way, for now, i would say use your GF2 ultra and hopefully find some way to return your GF3, it sounds dead, hope your warranty wasnt voided when you put on those sinks

Yeah, hope it's not too late. Actually I put the original heatsinks back on but it's still not working all too good. At least the ascii characters are gone, maybe now it's just a driver issue. I'll mess around with it some more.
