I have a weord ftp thing going on. a little while back i posted about ftp tranfers being slow when i uploaded over the lan to a data store. I use flash fxp and uploads from my winxp box to the LAN server were hitting 1.5MB/s max. if i uploaded from any of the linux servers it maxed the lan out 8-9MB/s I thought it was an xp networking thing or hardrive thing. I have now moved the data store form a 60gg 5400 ide to a U160 70gig array so disk write speed was not going to be an issue. STILL it would not go over 1.5MB/s.
As last resort i popped an ftp server on te xp machine and FXP the files to the lan server voila full speed. there must be a bug in flashfxp of some sort that is b0rking the upload speeds. But if any on else has porblem with slow ftp speeds on a lan and uses flashfxp you now know how to get around it 🙂
