Check out the page title and the thread title. The page title is supposed to be derived from the thread title, right? what's the deal here?

that funky A did it I think, to get around filters?

Nah, see the thread was posted and the word got through language filters. However, the spelling was changed in the browser title. 😕

from the top of the page:

<head>
<title>AnandTech - Damn I wish I was a n_____!</title>

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="include/themes/blue/fusetalkstyles_blue.css">

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
</head>

Note: Again, edited out the rest of the term that could be interpreted offensively 😛

Did sharkeeper get banned for that? :Q

Yes his account has been banned. If he actually did something like that he *should* be banned. It does not take a genius to figure out his account was compromised, however. He has informed me that his emails to moderators have gone unanswered and he has no interest in returning to the forums between this and the spam that someone has been intentionally funneling to his account knowing his resources are limited.

Bummer, I like that guy. I don't think he did that.

Yeah, that's not like him. I love it how members who the mods love can have something posted under their account (read: Tomato) and be forgiven for the uproar when they scream "OMG IT WASN'T ME" after the fact, but those who aren't on the "inside" get immediately banned for stuff that causes much less of a raucus.

I'd ideally like to get confirmation that IPs were checked, etc. You know, at least an effort shown to investigate this out-of-character act, especially considering that hijacking accounts is incredibly easy in FuseTalk.
