Weird file error...possibly association problem?

One of the computers I use has developed quite a strange problem, whenever you double click on an Excel file, Excel starts, but then gives you an error that it cannot find the file, and to check whether the file is there or not.

However, if you manually start Excel and then tell it to open the file within the program (file,open) then it will open just fine.

Does anyone have any possible ideas? Thank You!!!

sounds like the association is correct, perhaps a quick reinstall of excel will fix your prob.
