I keep getting these stupid Undeliverable emails saying I tried emailing random people but never have I ever. Somehow I think my gmail address got posted somewhere that a crawler grabbed it because I've started getting a huge influx of spam seemingly instantly about a week ago. I get these Undeliverable messages at least twice a day, here is a copy of one:

it also has a txt attachment named ATT42556.txt and has the text:

First part of the secure mail is available.

+++ Attachment: No Virus found
+++ Kaspersky AntiVirus - www.kaspersky.com

What the heck is this crap and why am I getting it, or better yet what is sending emails from my account, or is this some other garbage?

Someone else is sending the emails, but using your address as the "From". Chances are it was random and has nothing to do with you.

Another possibility - do you use a 3rd party client to access your Gmail and/or send emails (like Outlook Express) ? Your PC may have a virus, using it as an SMTP outgoing mail server... thus all returned are coming back to that email. I don't think it's required that GMail itself have SMTP capability for this... as long as your email addy can be faked by the app... it'll go.
