Weird Effects at 16bit color on my geforce 2 gts

In quake 3 engine games, 16 bpp color yields weird black tearing on the landscape of buildings, while 32 bpp color doesn't. For example in rtcw beach map, the land next to sea wall yields intense black tearing. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Overclocking is not the reason for this happening.

So that is a side affect of using 16 bpp color! That sucks then, my gts cries at 32 bpp color.
