Weird DVD problems...

I have a Creative DVD drive in my computer and it seems to work quite well except for twice.
The first time it refused to play one it was "Crouching tiger hidden dragon".
I even took the DVD back and got another copy but it wouldn't play either. Now I'm trying to get it to play "The Musketeer" and it's doing the same thing.

The FBI warning comes up and it plays, then nothing.

As I understand, this movie has some connection with the makers of the other movie that wouldn't play.

Anyone have any idea WHY these two movies refuse to run on my computer?

BTW: I tryed playing them in WinDVD, Interactual, and mediaplayer and the result was the same on ALL players...... (Windows XP Pro) VP-6 with dual 750 P3's @ 863, 768 megs of ram..............

If this is the wrong forum (As I'm sure it is..) please point me in the right direction (Tactfully please!) ;)

Can you see the drive in My Computer? Try to open the .vob files and see if they play...

Is your DVD-ROM unlocked or set to region 0 instead of 1? Supposedly then DVDs with newer copy protection ("RCE" is one flavor) won't play.

Tried that, no joy..

Could be, I'll check that and get back to you...though I'm pretty sure it's set to 1.

I had the same problem with my The Phantom Menace DVD not playing under PowerDVD. It worked under WinDVD, though, I think. I don't have any idea what caused it, though.

Ver. 1.3 (came with my Geforce 2 Pro)

I don't use interactual either as a rule, I was just seeing if IT would work.

Well I installed WINDVD 4 same thing, doesn't play.

SO just to make sure I booted into 2000 Pro and tried both interactual and WINDVD, same'o same'o

It has to be something with the disk!!

ARGHHHHH stupid stupid things, why can't they just make them all the same???!!!!!

Now I have to go back where I rented the damn thing and tell them I couldn't watch it..(After having in for 2-3 days, I'm SURE they will believe me!!)
