Anyone know what this means?

I was one of the contestants on the show Survivor and we were paired into teams of four, iirc. The setting for the show was in the jungle. One of the other contestants (not on my team) had a pet snake. I don't remember if he found it or brought it from home. Anyways, it was night time so we were all asleep. (Yes, I was asleep in my dream.) I had fallen asleep next to the guy with the pet snake. Anyways, while asleep, I could feel the snake slithering around my leg and up my body ending up at my neck. I was paralyzed at this point and couldn't move but I remember wondering if the snake was going to kill me via constriction or poison. The snake then bit me on my neck (on the left side). I felt a sharp pain and the snake started to suck my blood vampire style. I went to grab the snake by its head. I woke up irl grabbing my neck in the same spot.

Yeah, its called sleep paralysis.

Scary stuff to experience it first hand.

EDIT: I've actually had a dream before where I had a dream within a dream. Talk about weird.

In many dreams a single snake will come to bite you, and you may in fact be bitten after a brief struggle. To your amazement though, you will not die, and may find that the situation is not as bad as you thought. This type of dream can come when you have been fighting for your life with some problem, relationship or challenge. Such a snake-ordeal is an important signal that you are going through a kind of initiation; a psychological and spiritual trial that has the potential to change your life for the better if you deal with it bravely and with a clear heart. You may have to give up something you thought you couldn't, or take a stand for your principles or faith. This type of dream is responsible for the widely held belief that "snakes represent transformation." In my opinion, these dreams state the potential for growth and transformation inherent within a current difficulty. But to harvest this promise, you must walk through your fears and be willing to let go of the old in order to gain the rewards of the future.

Did a quick check on a book I have, said roughly the same thing just not in as much depth.

It also means you are teh ghey, and are struggling to keep it in check. My advice, embrace your homo erotic urges and develop a wide stance.

That sort of dream analysis is crap, in my opinion.

In waking life, you assume and fear the worst scenario of the variables presented to you. If you were laying next to a snake, your primary concern would be the snake strangling or biting you.

In a dream, your brain creates random variables and, naturally, you fear the worst scenario. Fearing it makes you visualize it, and visualizing it makes your dream use it. So if you're in a dream, and your brain has created a snake, your primary concern is "Wow, I hope this snake doesn't bite me," and this leads the dream causing the snake to bite you.

It's a cause and effect, but it's mostly random. You can't extract any more meaning from a dream than you could from experiencing similar waking thoughts.

I don't put much stock in it either, but he asked what does it mean so I threw out the most likely explanation that a dream analyst educated in Freud/Jung theory would offer.

Yeah, its called sleep paralysis.

EDIT: I've actually had a dream before where I had a dream within a dream. Talk about weird.

Dude me too!! And the sleep paralysis is downright scary. I have had that MANY times. I remember dreaming and then all of the sudden, I couldn't breathe. And I was straining but I couldn't breathe, and it would hit me in my dream, I'd be walking along, and then BAM!, I'd have issues breathing in the dream. It was downright scary, I'd be straining in my mind, trying to breathe. One time, I woke up, and found my face stuffed into my pillow and gasping for breath--that was scary. This was when I was younger especially, it's happened on occasion, and is very uncomfortable, but I sleep lying down face up now, instead of head to the side, so if I roll over, my face isn't stuffed into the bed.

As for the paralysis, YES, I have had that too! It's downright frightening, and annoying. I haven't had any hallucinations, I don't think, but I basically see a vague picture of room, my eyes are dimly open, the room is dimly lit by the moon light wafting in through the blinds, but I can't move! Sometimes, I can't breathe, and I basically wait to wake up more thoroughly. Sometimes, I go back into slumber. But these phenomens are quite disturbing, and not appreciated.

Needless to say, they are scary, and I doubt we'll be able to explain them until scientists are able to project what a man is dreaming about onto a screen, with all the images and sounds.

Your dreams are what will happen/are happening/have happened to you in alternate dimensions.

Honestly sounds like you are in relationship or job that sucking the life out of you. Maybe a friend or relative is being way to demanding of your time or finances.

Finally! I can now prove beyond a doubt that Jessica Alba's baby is mine.
