Weird Display Problem!!

I have a Viewsonic VP720B LCD and a Nvidia XFX 7600GT Graphics Card.
Core2Duo E6400, P5B Deluxe Mobo, 2*512 Transcend 667Mhz.
I have got a weird siplay problem where only the black parts of the any video or movies are distorted or more like pixelated, this problem is only with black and no other colour.
Like For Example : Suppose in a movie a person has worn a black coat then the coat is all distorted, like wise for black hair of a person etc.
Even in Images if i zoom a bit i can easily see the "Black" parts of the images blurred or distorted.
If a video or image doesnt have black in it, it is crystal clear.
My resolution is 1024*768. I have tried changing the gamma settings as well as the resolution but nothing helped.
Any Ideas on how to solve the same...?

Also man the problem is not only with videos but also images as i pointed out...if i zoom an image a little bit i can see the black parts of the same distorted.....

Someone please help...i have bought this system only a month back...

But howcome then the other colours are crystal clear....and while playing games i cant see this black distortion....
Also i run the monitor in Digital mode...should i change it to analog??

i did some uninstallation of softwares like Divx and some ocodecs and reinstalled some codecs and now the problem is that not only black but most parts of the video are distorted.
Tis aint a video card problem as the game videos are running perfectly fine.....
Any Solutions...
help...??

It's very hard to tell from your description exactly what's going on. Is this your first LCD by any chance? LCDs all, to some extent, "crush" dark regions of the picture to black. So when on a CRT you would be looking at a lot of fine shades of dark colors in a very dark part of an image (even if those shades were barely noticeable), on the LCD many of them get crushed into one or two bands of black or near-black. That may be what you're noticing. You probably don't see it in games because they are brighter than movies, and you're moving around a lot and not paying attention to the shading of dark areas.

Yes man this is my first LCD...mebbe you are right....
But in some videos like suppose those which require Mpeg 1 or 2 the quality is even worse not just on black but as a whole.....
