sent my laptop to dell for repair coz it wouldnt post

i had 2 modules of RAM (512 mb micron, 256 mb infenion) both of which were bought seperately (1 from ebay and 1 from crucial directly)

i got the laptop back today, DELL replaced the system board and RAM (coz they said it was defective)

can they DO that?

the specs seem the same, but its samsung chips, i am assuming its cheaper/worse than Micron, and the memory was fine to my knowledge

should i call them and ask about it ?

why did you send it to them with parts (the RAM) that wasn't in it when you bought it?

too late now, probably

This is just me, but I wouldn't send anything in for repair with any aftermarket equipment.
