First off:
I am not a spoiled brat. I do not expect to get very expensive gifts and when I don't get exensive gifts, I don't complain, I just want to share something about how weird my dad is.
I went with my dad to Sam's Club tonight to try to pick up one of the 100 gig HDs that has been talked about in hot deals. They had this decent 27" flat tube TV for $370. As I have been dropping hints about me wanting a TV for christmas, I commented on how nice it looked and how good the price was(I also left pages from the Circuit city and Best Buy sunday circulars with TVs on them lying around the house, the past couple of weeks) So when we are in the car driving away, I say again how good of a price TV that was. He says something to the affect of, "Yeah, it's nice, you better start saving your money" I say, something like, "Yup, I guess you're right", thinking how much what he just said sucked. A couple of minutes later, after thinking of a tactful way to word what I was going to ask, I ask something like "What are you getting me?"(trust me, it was much more tactful than that, I just can't think of how I worded it) He smiles and says, "Ya know mike? I really haven't given it much though" It didn't look like a smirk, it looked like an innocent smile. He then says something like, "For your birthday, if you get some money scraped together, I will put some money towards a new TV" I say something like, "Sure thing"
I'm kinda confused on what could be going on:
1) As I said earlier, I have been hinting about wanting a TV for about 3 weeks. We have been to best buy and circuit city a couple of times and I have commented on how much I would like a TV. I also left circulars around the house. He could be trying to play mind games with me, and already took my TV hints and already got me a TV
2) He could have no idea what he is going to get me. The thing is, he normaly gets me one big electronic thing for christmas, and I'm not sure what else he could get me.
the thing is, I could see him doing both of these.
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to find out
