My computer seems to crash whenever i am transferring data to or from the HD. At first I thought maybe it was an issue with Vista and something to do with software, because I would often get frequent crashes for no reason apparent reason. I bought a copy of windows 7 64 and to be safe wiped the drive and tried a clean install of win7. The install kept crashing, and I thought maybe the drive had gone bad. I replaced the HD and the install issues kept occuring. I removed all but one stick of RAM and got win7 to install, and update. Now the system seems to be mostly stable except it won't allow me to install, or move files, from one drive to another. The weird thing is that it isn't everything, or all the time. It allowed me to both move over and install starcraft, but starcraft 2 hangs on the install and crashes windows.... I can think of a half dozen things that could potentially be wrong hardware side but none that really make much sense, so I was hoping for some suggestions. Its my only computer right now, and i built it for gaming so i have a substantial investment in it.
Thanks for any help!
