You sure it's not the case?

It's probably just the side panel/VRM heatsink heating up.

yeah, something expanding/contracting.

If it's actually the motherboard, loosen the screws a tad so it can wiggle.

If VRM heatsink making that cracking noise ( heating up or cool down ) it is something wrong?

Why are you asking us? Just RMA it, lol.

But seriously, if it sounds just like the recording, then do what the guy in the comments did and tighten the case screws.

Ah, for those cooler temps. With the PC off, check case fan screws, motherboard mounting screws, and any screws on the motherboard (if the hsf's aren't just taped).

Make sure all four corners of your HSF are mounted in the motherboard well. If that unit isn't mounted straight, it would make noise.

Maybe the heat from that 100c cpu did some damage.
You need a better hsf for starts.
The first time I saw 80c heat was on a new 9700 pro so I bought my first water block and pump to cool it.

No cover on that board looks weird! Put a fan on the VRM"S(what you have circled) no cooking on it, no frying eggs. If you want help we assume you do post your FULL SYSTEM SPEC"S< IE CPU GPU< PSU<RAM>HDD"S> ETC. Make it easier for us to help you also what cooler are you using, and don't tell me it's the free HSF that came with your CPU.

How hot are you running it? At this time of year where some places get ridiculous temps some people are crazy enough to not have AC in their house and let the ambient temp get in the 30C's or even hotter. This is very bad for electronics. At work if we see a building hit 30C it's actually an emergency hvac tech dispatch as the equipment is considered at risk.

Should have told my box that when temps cracked 40 celsius over here a while back. You ever seen someone stick to furniture and need to peel off? :awe:
