Weird CPU Voltage Reading...

I used to have an ECS K7S5A mobo that I used to OC my AthlonXP 1700/1466 to 1573.
Using MBM the CPU voltage reading was 1.70 V. I've replaced the board w/ an A7V266-C
and able to achieve an OC of 1620. Weird thing is that MBM and sisoft sandra reports the
voltage to 1.84 V. I looked at the bios w/c reports the voltage at 1.70 V. Is this voltage safe
and what's w/ the disparity in the voltage readings?

I'm pretty sure the 1.tv in the bios is correct. I would trust the boards bios more than a 3rd party program, unless there is a known issue with the bios reading?

I installed ASUS PC Probe. The core reading was the same as mbm.
But for the +12V was at 13.20, making it alarm incessantly. Hmmm
how can booting into windows change the reading from the sensors?
This is the 1st time I've eperienced this.

Believe the reading from the bios. It's the closest to the real thing.

3rd party temp reading program could provide reading errors if u didn't set it correctly.

I guess I'm just jittery after loosing two hds and a mobo
because of cheepo power supply before the holidays.
Guess you're right after all--after rebooting the bios
readings were quite different from the two programs
mentioned.

i had this same type of question, did a search and came up with this topic.

my question, i have a asus p4pe, and a p4 2.4 i just started oc'ing it yesterday. when i set the voltage to 1.6 in the bios, mbm says its more like 1.68 while its running. which one to believe? when i up it to 1.65 and mbm starts displaying over 1.7 should i be concerned?
