IT WORKS
IT FING WORKS
BUWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
uhem....
I've been tryign to get Snapstream's Beyond TV Link to connecto to my server upstairs for weeks to avail. After speaking with tech support and getting no where, I reinstaleld my OS, uninstalled every security anti-virus program in the house and still ahd no luck. I tried, frankly, everything, and it would not find the server. TCP/IP, Netbios, MCI, it all failed me
Everythign was sharing and workign perfectly..just not Beyond TV.
That is, until I got another e-mail from Tech support.
"WTF" I told myself...I've not only tried the linksys firmware for my WRT54GS, but hte Satori and Alchemist Swesoft firmwares to no avail....and then it hit me...lets blame the sweeds! All the firmware, bisides Linksys's (a reacharound at best in terms of quality) were both swe's.
And so I found HyperWRT...I set it up, and fired up Beyond TV Link
It was as if the turttle doves and little green men who were handling out free lifesavers were joing around me singing Kumbaya in a circle around a nice warm fire...
It was an orgasmic delight.
For once, there was not 'server not found' message to slice into my eyes
For once, "Beyond TV server " appeared.
I clicked.
My chair exploded.
Rivers greater than the Yellow River himself flowed from my eyes.
I am in heaven.

Excerpt from said email
Some wireless routers will seperate the wireless network from the wired one to prevent the wireless from broadcasting onto the wired network, they may also do this as a secruity measure, unfortunatly if your wireless router is doing this then there is no way to have a wireless system access the btv server if it is on the wired network.
Suggestions:
- Contact the manufacturer and see if mutli-casting is enabled between the wireless / wired networks and if not how to enable it. If it is not possible you would need to replace the router with one that does, or move the server pc onto the wireless network.
