Weird bootup problems with ECS SIS735 chipset

I just built a Athlon 1.6XP system on a ECS Sis735 based motherboard. 256MB Crucial DDR ram, Geforce 3 TI200, SBLIVE!, Elight 300W midtower case, 60GB Harddisk. Windows ME is installed.

The system performs great in benchmarks, but there is one odd problem. After the system sits unpowered for about 8 hours or longer, the bootup freezes when it gets to the white Windows ME screen. I have to hit the reset switch followed by a safemode boot into windows. After a reboot there the system is fine. In fact, I can shut it down, reboot it as many times as I want without no problem. I tried leaving it turned off for about 4 hours at a time and no problems at all. But when I shut it down at 4:00PM and come to work the next morning at 8:00, it does the freeze thing at the windows screen.

Anyone else encounter this? I'm pretty much clueless as to what would cause something like this. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.
