weird boot up problem

yesterday i installed new hard disk and i connected everything perfectly. i was in bios and all 3 of my hds were detected. when i tried going into windows ive got error "boot disk failure, please enter your system disk" so what i did was go to bios and enable cd boot up only from the bootup priority. so it went in and when it said press any key to boot up from cd i just didnt press anything and ive finally got to my desktop which is where i am now. ive tried setting up the correct boot sequence a,c,d but it i still get that error. anyone know what the hell is going on?
 
Either it's a bug in the bios version, or the sequence is wrong and it's trying to boot to a non-system drive.

Make sure which HD's correspond to the bios names (hdd01,hdd02,etc), and then double check it. If all else fails, just leave it with the cd booting first (won't boot to it unless there is a bootable cd in the drive). If you need to boot to the floppy drive, you could always change it in the bios when you need to.
 
everything corresponds correctly. if i set floppy to boot first then i get the error no matter what. ive got updated bios. however i don;t know if this has any effect on this but last week i reinstalled windows and it installed to d: drive which is my sata drive and c: was my ide drive. i also have an icon in the the desktop saying "safely remove hardware" i clicked onit and it points to my sata drive with generic volume d:.
 
To see if you can get rid of the safely remove hardware icon, try making sure that in the driver page for the drive it is set to be optimized for performance instead of quick removal.

In any case, just keep expiramenting. I'm sure you'll eventually find the problem (unless it just disappears).
