Weird boot issue X-25M + P35 mobo

Here is the setup. My previous OS install was Vista Premium on a 300GB Velociraptor. I recently bought an 80GB X-25M and installed Win7 Pro on it. The motherboard is a DFI Bloodiron P35-T2RL.

When the Raptor and X-25 are plugged in, I'm prompted as to which OS I'd like to startup when I boot the computer (this is expected). However whenever I unplug the Raptor, I get a "DISK BOOT FAILURE" error.

Odd thing is, adjusting the BIOS options does not help any. I can remove all hard drives from the system, set the X-25 as a primary boot disk in the BIOS, and I still get the "DISK BOOT FAILURE" error. It is almost as if the system needs the 300GB Raptor present just to be able to boot from the X-25 SSD.

Any idea how to fix this?

It means that the boot sector is on the Raptor. You need to connect just the X25-M, and then run the boot repair off of the DVD.

I assume you mean run the Win7 install disk? What is the exact setting I'm looking for? I don't want to do a repair on the whole OS, just the boot sector. Is that possible?

Ok, booting from a disk and repairing the MBR didn't work.

Here is the command I ran:
'bootsect.exe /nt60 C:\ /force /mbr'

I received a message saying the MBR had been successfully updated on the C drive. Upon rebooting I got the same "DISK BOOT FAILURE" error. I repeated this twice with the same result.

wtf is going on here? Is repairing/updating the MBR not the answer? Don't tell me I'm going to have to reinstall Windows to make this thing work right.

Plug the SSD into the SATA plug the Raptor is/was plugged into. On my motherboard I had to do this.
