Ok I am pretty sure this is a hardware problem. I was having this problem under win2k and decided to reinstall thinking it would fix it. Now win2k won't even finish installation without this problem occuring.

The first time I had this installed on the 46 gig IBM deskstar 75gxp. The second time I tried installing it on the 60 gig IBM deskstar 60gxp.

The error occured when I was installing something or moving files. Please help.

Hmmm you do have the latest via 4 in 1s installed right? Or the latest bios? I see you have a live! soundcard.

hal.dll is crashing you. find teh source. Look under device manager, VIEW " Show hidden devices" and try disabling it.

I used to have a similar IRQ message when installing Nt4 from cdrom, when I did it from floppy it worked like a charm. Although there should be no differences that's my experience.
