I've been attempting to overclock two systems both running 6800gt's(leadtek & BFG) and when i overclock these videocards i find that my 3dmark06 score goes down. ??? What the heck is going on here? Anyone else experience this?

Possibly overheating and killing efficiency... essentially its like running downhill and your legs cant keep up and you trip lol

Hmmmm....

You must have one of those special 6800 GT's. I heard from an Australian source that if you get the right kind you can even do HDR+AA in Far Cry with it. :p

3DMark can be flightly like that. I know that with my 7800 GT's, if I didn't overclock the core at least 27 MHz the score wouldn't really show a steady increase, but once I hit 27 MHz or more on the overclock it boosted the score.

You'll just have to play with it, overclock it until it can't run through 3DMark and crashes, then go back and down clock it until it does, etc. (Just watch your temps) Finding the sweet spot is a part of overclocking, it's not always a straight shot where an increase in frequencies always = an increase in scores / framerates.

Temps are fine. Temps on both cards are <55. Also i'm not talking about lack of performance gain but a huge decrease(like 25%) in total 3dmark score when the card is oc'ed and the higher i oc the lower the score. I'm starting to think it's the 6800GT in general.
