Weird Behavior - Monitor Power Setting

I'm running WinXP Pro on my main rig. P4 3.2, Abit AG8 mobo, XFX 6600GT, 2 17" Viewsonic LCD's. I've got the power settings in Windows set to turn off the monitors after 15 minutes of idle time. From time to time this setting gets changed to never turn off the monitors. I've tried everything I can think of to stop this from happening. I'll change the setting, then reboot, check it - it's still set correctly. But every couple weeks, it reverts back to the default setting of 'never'. I'll come home from work to find my monitors still on after a whole day of nothing. I know I could just turn the monitors off when I leave, but I thought I'd see if anybody had any ideas. TIA.
