I missed a call on my cell phone and it was from an area code I had never seen before. I call it back and a lady answers on the first ring. She said that she didn't call me. I asked her where she was located and she said Oregon. HTF does someone accidently call my number from oregon(live in atlanta) and then when I call back have no clue. If she is answering on the first ring you have to figure that she knows who was using her phone. Oh well, it was just strange.

I thought text messages were free for the first (how many?) then after that there's a charge?

I've had stray phone calls come in on my cell phone too. No big deal. Usually, if the caller ID says UNKNOWN, I don't even bother to answer. Or if I miss a call then I do the reverse lookup thing to check if it is listed.

I went on a trip for a few days and left my cell at home. When I got back I had 20+ messages, all from drug dealers!!

They were like:

"hey, its me, I am over at bobs house, i need the stuff"
"hey, its me, I am still here, they want a quarter"
"Joe? Its me, we will be here until 10:00"

Next day:

"hey, its me, we never hooked up, I really need the stuff"

It went on and on like that for 20+ messages. My neighbor is a police sgt. so I let her copy all the messages and she gave it to the narcotics dept. That fool left call back numbers, used all their names, etc.

What I don't get is when somebody calls my house, answers the voicemail answers and clearly states both me and my fiance's name and then they proecede to leave a message for somebody else?

As for your situation, I wonder if she simply screwed up the area code or something.

I absolutely HATE Caller ID...caller ID is the worst thing ever invented. I hate when you accidentally dial someone earlier in the day, get an answering machine, and they call back later like yeah, this is john, you called meearlier? WTF why the hell do you scroll through your damn caller ID and call people you missed? First of all if it was important they would have left a message...and second of all if you DON'T know the #, obviously it was either a wrong #, a solicitor, or not for you.

My roommate has a lawn service and a dedicated line for his business. Whenever he leaves messages with people he calls from our phone #, but leaves his lawn service phone #. No fail, people always call back THIS #. It really pisses me off...whenever they call I tell them to stop calling this # and call the proper # that he left a message on your machine with. Never fails, yeah, is mike there? Me: no, he doesn't live here. Them: but he called me from that #. Me: What if he was at a pay phone and called you, would you randomly go through your damn caller ID and call that # back?

Whoever invented caller ID needs to burn in hell...not ot mention its harder to make pranks nowadays

It was on my missed calls list. I was waiting on a call from Canada and a call from Iowa. Both have area codes that start with 5**. The person called me from a 503 and I assumed it was either someone who was calling me back from Canada or Iowa.

The number was from Saint Helens, Oregon. Anyone know where that is?

I get those all the time. 2 weeks ago I got a phone call from somewhere in Washington. Then a couple months back I got a phone call from this chick - she was in the middle of talking to her friend when somehow her phone dialed my phone. Cell phones are strange like that

I get international phone call messages. (yes it's not in english)
to
messages like this
"Hey Davis, Could you pick me up at the hospital?"
And it's from a weird area code(out of state). (and I'm not davis)

I dislike messages.. if I come home and the voicemail light is flashing, I just continue right past it... If it's important, they'll call back! :)
