I just replaced my 7800gt's in sli with a x1900xtx. I uninstalled the nvidia drivers, rebooted, ran driver cleaner. I then put the x1900xtx in, and the artifacting occured. I installed catalyst 6.4 drivers and it still occurs. I get no artifacting or problems in 3dmark06 or ati tool artifact scanner. It's not really a major problem, but somewhat annoying. Right after the windows loading screen finished, the artifact shows up, different each time, generally a bunch of different colored lines or a fuzz like that of a tv not getting a channel. This screen shows for about a second and then the windows logon screen appears. Does anyone have any ideas?

Edit: Apparently it was an issue with the 6.4 drivers. I switched to 6.3 and it works fine now.

Same here. I didn't get these with the 6.3 drivers, but when I stitched to 6.4 there they are. I never really persued getting rid of them since they are only there for about 2 seconds. But, they are still somewhat annoying....

I switched back to 6.3, the problem is gone. Also for certain games my X1800 XT was underclocking and undervolting, switching from 6.4s to 6.3s fixed it for me.

hey sentry2 - that is a nice overclock on that x1900xtx 785/1720. What type of cooling do you have on that thing? What are your load temps?

1/2" Maze 4 water block and ramsinks with active cooling. Max load temps are around 42c. I game 24/7 @ 750/1700. Get over 13k in 3Dmark 05 and BF2 @ 2048x1536 6xAA still gets me around 60fps. Love this card. First ATI card in a long time. :)
