First of all, my system specs are in the signature. Keep in mind that my video card is a PCI, NOT an AGP (and since I know someone will ask...my old motherboard didn't have an AGP slot so I got a PCI video card). Anyway, on to my story.
For the past couple weeks, I have had this annoying problem. Every so often when I restart, my display settings will switch and be at 800x600 and 4 bit color! Then a little icon pops up in the system tray and says something like "You are currently running at a very low resolution. To change display settings, click this balloon." So I click the balloon, and nothing happens, the settings are not fixed. So I restart again, and its still at 800x600 and 4 bit color. The same message comes up, so I click the balloon again and suddenly my settings are almost back to normal (it puts the settings to 800x600 and 16 bit color, which I change to 1152x864 and 16 bit).
On to the point....does anyone have any clue why this is happening and how to fix it? I have tried all different drivers (21.83s, 23.11s, 27.20s) but none of them make a difference. (I'm using 27.20's right now if you were wondering). Also, all other drivers are up to date and BIOS is flashed to latest version.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/fixes!
