Hi
I got a new system (see sig), installed DX9b, latest nForce drivers, latest omegas (based on 4.7) and SP1 (WinXP), when I checked this page I found out that their score is 500 higher than mine! And they have a similar system (kinda), so is there anything wrong with my system? I turned off AA/AF before starting the benchmark.

It soundz like a normal score. Tuning your system in general is an art IMO so you have to work on if you want better results.
A friendly tip. New ATI tool(I think) has the ability to relax the timings of your gpu ram. Do it and you'll see better results.

Your mark is fine ~5500 for a 9800 Pro.

That other system is faster - it has Cas2 DDR @ 400MHz, while yours is Cas? @ 362 Mhz. The P4 "C" series is very competitive vs the Athlon XP, as well.

I have practically the same setup and get the same or slightly lower score. You can try overclocking the video card but you may also be CPU limited as well.

The problem with comparing your score to others is that a lot of people will go into the ATI/nVidia controal panel and set everyine to low quality/high performane settings just to get a "impressive score" If I can get 3500-4000 with the quailty settings I like, then I'm happy.

mid 5000s is fine for the previous gen of cards. Don't expect to be blasting 10k or above without an NV40/R420.

What are your computer specs, Dragon Fire?
So you think guys that my score is normal? I thought CPU speed doesn't matter that much in 3DMark03.
Anyway, as for the video RAM timings, I guess I'll have to flash my video card's BIOS during the process, right? Isn't it risky?
Thanks for your replies

personally i think cpu and ram does affect 3dmarks03 score in some way
i had a 9800 pro
first in my p4 1.7 system with 256 ram...my score was in the low 5000
then i bought a new computer with p4 3.0c with 1gb of ram......my score increased to 5800+
maybe it was because the first system i had was cpu limited
hope that'll help

Wait now I saw that you've already flashed your 9800se->pro. I don't know if it's dangerous to relax your timings since you have already flashed your card.
But generally with a "normal" gpu you aren't supposed to have any problems. And it's not dangerous. It's the same procedure as with system ram.

I got just above 6k with my 9800 Pro, but that was with an Athlon64 @ 2.4GHz :)

your score looks good.
