I'm not a HUGE fan of their chili, but it's pretty good for a fast food chain. Today I was at Food4Less in the HotDog err I mean lunch meat section, and I saw they're selling it in small containers now. Not cheap, was $2.24 for 12 ounces. I think the 12 ounce can of Deninson's is about 1.25-2.00 generally. Denninsons is pretty good for can chili. I bet it would be good to pick up a couple of the WeinerSnitchl cans and make some chili cheese dip with it.

anyone see this at other stores? this was my first time seeing it anywhere.

btw, Tommy's chili rules

ABSOLUTLY! And rumor straight from Tommy's was they were going to be marketing and selling it in stores in CA.

But when you're shopping and wanna make chili dogs at home, unless you bought some right from Tommy's (which I do from time to time) you're stuck with whatever the supermarket has.

it might kill me, but it'll sure be a delicious death

Stagg is very different chilli, it's chunky like Rush Limbah. It's got all kinds of pepers and peices of tomato in it. It's definitely not authentic Con Carne.

Honestly I think Denninsons is the best "big name" Chili. They have beans, no beans. I perfer Con Carne (no beans) And you can always add some hot sauce while you're cooking it to add some flavor.

Some people like Hormell, err their Tabasco flavor chili isn't bad, it's not rich enough for me.

You should try Denninsons, good stuff man, DELICIOUS on a Baked Potato!

That would be the one, I can never spell it. They have decent food, as long as you get the higher priced things. I always get the all beef dogs. the chili is odd, I like it, but don't know why exactly

With all the preservatives that they put in the canned stuff, the canned stuff will kill you. You are better off making your own and freezing it.

I have tried to make chili, I can't seem to get it right. I had the flavor really how I liked it, but I can't emulate the texture. I tried cooking my beef a few different ways, but it always seems to come out either too chewy, or just not quite the same.

I'm stupid, any pointers on cooking beef? :)

Like learning to cook any other comfort food, it takes allot of time to get it right. It?s never perfect. It?s always an experimenting and growing process. Your beef may be coming out to chewy due to an excessive simmer time. Chile does not need alot of hours to simmer. Most cook offs only give your four hours max to complete the whole process

Canned is terrible for the most part, Stagg is the only good one.

Crock Pot is your friend though.. Chili is so damn easy to make, I'm sure Vi Edit or someone else here has a great recipe.
