just bought an all new system:

AMD64 3700+
DFI Lanparty UT SLI-DR
1 GB OCZ Rev 2
EVGA 7800GT CO
250GB Maxtor SATA HD

it would be a shame if the heatsink broke off my mb and crashed into my video card...i already ordered from newegg so i might just have to buy a different heatsink. any suggestions?

Cutting right to the chase.

It cools very well when it's 92mm fan is screaming at 45dB++.

At 795g it is in the Sumo class and must be removed to transport the rig.

It has a complicated mounting system(as per reviews)

Newegg has a 30 day return policy. Do not open the packaging! Return it!

For ease of mounting, performance at tolerable fan speeds, get a SI-120 Thermalright.
For a smaller HSF like the one i'm just installing, get a XP-90C.
Best bang for the buck, XP-90.

The SI-120 fits all current mainboards and CPUs. The mounting system is simple and secure.
It is fairly light.

There are many threads being worked in this forum right now if you took a little time and *LOOKED* for them.
There is a post on HSF reviews that covers just about all that is near the top in heatpipe
CPU cooling.

i have the hyper 6+ let me tell you this thing is huge. had to cut out one of my side case fans just to get my door back on. mounting bolts are to short so its kind of a pain to get it locked down. had to put a lot of presure on my board just to get the bolt through. cools really well though. im happy with it but you might want to look around and see what else is out there. lots of good things heard about with the 120 and 9500's. oh and also the fan is a 100mm not a 92mm.
