So over the summer I having been gaining a bit of weight, I didn't really notice it until I stepped on a scale the other day. I put on 20 lbs over the last 3 months!!! (180-200, but I'm 6'4" so it doesn't show much). Since I've been wearing summer attire I hadn't really noticed, but now that its getting chilly out, I find my jeans are a bit too snug. I immediately started running again (~4 miles/day).

I'm thinking of trying a cranberry juice only diet for a week or two to lose some weight right away, just so I can comfortably fit into my warmer clothes, then up the running to (~10 miles/day) to maintain it.

Is this reasonable or do you have better suggestions?

Also does anyone know of a website with free meal plans.

a cranberry juice diet is not reasonable.
 
That's a terrible idea. Even if your scale weight goes down in those two weeks, it will be almost entirely water and/or muscle that is lost. Do a search on here for one of million other "how do I lose fat" posts we get on here, or visit the board in my sig.
 
Cranberry juice only plus 10miles/day is a good weight loss plan, but it'd be better if you added weight training and more cardio.
 
Does steel cut oatmeal count as carbs? Also, do you think think pomegranate and acai juice would be ok or would it be too much sugar.
 
The only "diet" I've ever seen work consistantly is a lifestyle change. Stop eating processed food from factories and start eating fresh fruits and veggies, that's really about it. Add in exercise and get enough sleep and you're all set. The problem with a diet is that you have to stick to it, and when you're done you just go back to your old habits. If you make a lifestyle change, then there's nothing to go back to. You just have to find things to replace the junk you normall eat - carrots instead of candy bars, juice instead of soda, etc. This is the only way I've ever seen people lose weight and stay healthy over time. There's no magic bullet. If you really want to get in top shape, from my research I've discovered it's best to eat 5-6 small healthy meals a day and workout for a few hours a day.
