The answer is right there....put down the fork fatty. You need to decide 'do I want to eat all these fattening things?' or 'do I want to look less like a pumpkin?'

Don't call yourself a vegetarian, call yourself a meat-less glutton. You don't need to think about filling up...you need to think about how much food do you need. The more you fill yourself the more you need to feel full. Nuts are highly calorie and not so filling so it's easy to eat a lot of them. Bread is not soooo bad if you don't eat a lot and stick to the whole grains like wheat, rye, pumpernickel, pita breads.....crackers are terrible esp with sodium, and cheese is also nutritionally dense and usually high in fats....as is milk.

For calcium stick with tums.

5 slimfasts and junkfood + eating other things? jesus.

i think that would be why im trying to figure out healthy foods that will fill me up. im not going to starve myself just to lose the weight or eat healthier.

im sure there are some vegetables that will fill me up AND be good for me?

I've heard the South Beach Diet is pretty good. Do a google search on that diet & check out the link in Prevention magazine. I remember reading in the FAQ for that diet that Veggies can go on it 😀

Cheers,
Aquaman

the point is you don't want to be 'filling' yourself up...you are going to have to figure out how much you really need to eat, eat it and know you got what you needed despite possibly not feeling full.

well i guess thats the tough one. im a vegetarian that doesnt eat very many vegetables. i mean i WILL eat them.. i just dont.

i eat a lot of bread-type stuff.. and crackers.. and cheese... i drink a lot of milk.

i suppose salads would help, but they arent very filling to me. the no-carbs thing with atkins i guess wouldnt work since i eat a lot of bread hehe.

oh! i loooove peanuts and cashews 😛

i dunno, i mean im willing to try things.. but i dont eat a lot right now just because i dont have many ideas of yummy AND healthy vegetarian stuff ... so then i end up eating a bunch of junk food or drinking like 5 slimfasts a day to fill me up :-/
Cut down on that stuff. I've heard that new vegetarians who gain weight do so because they eat a lot more cheese than before. How about fish instead?

not easy, since being a true vegitarian requires large bulks of food +suppliments sometimes to get the correct nutrients. esp for a woman, if you really are one. unless of course you want to be a malnurished vegitarian. only way to do it correctly is to find some reputable vegitarian diet bookt o help you out. other then that, don't drink calories, drink a lot of water..um, build muscle mass..no way getting around exersize.

eat a variety of vegetables. Incorporate tofu into your meals, as an alternative to meat. Tofu is especially good in chinese cooking. It absorbs the flavors of anything around it, and really does taste good. As far as bread and other things go, eat only whole grains if possible. Also, do you mind fish?

I suggest skipping the diet and spending time with a quality shrink.

I remember seeing a picture thread where you posted yours. For those in this thread that didn't see them, she's 17ish years old, thin enough to make most other girls jealous, and by most men's standards would probably be considered very attractive. You do not need to lose weight! Here's a news flash for you: people gain weight as they get older. Seriously - you're young - you're still growing. Combine this thread with the one where you want fake boobs and I think you've got some issues that you should sort out or they'll really bite you in the ass as you go through life.

Work on fixing your brain first.

Maybe she is just an "AW". Nothing wrong with that, right?

From what someone mentioned above, what height and weight are ya? If you are attractive to yourself and others don't change! Just because society shows super-skinny models, don't give in to that crap. You are not supposed to be able to see bones sticking through the skin on a normal, healthy woman!

Also, if you are actually 15 or 20 pounds overweight, and you want o "fill" yourself up, you might want to look into a book called "The Zone diet" where it recommends small meals throughout the day, instead of big ones, plus other things.

South Beach diet is a gimmick. basically, you are just eating less calories per day.

so it's just common sense repackaged with slick marketing. and yet another person gets rich off Fattys.

hm..Jedi, guru of the lightsaber and of the Padawan Diet program 😛

btw, why did you go veggie?? if it is for your health and you don't eat veggies, than i recommend going back to a meat eating diet. if it's for other reasons, than i can't really comment.

occasionally ill have pepperoni on my pizza or a tiny bite of steak but thats about it.

Then you aren't a vegetarian 😉

<--- Lacto-Vegetarian but I am about to go Vegan and see if I can lose some weight eating vegetables and tofu.

I've been a vegetarian for the last 29 years. It's easy to put weight on if you're not careful. Moderation and lifestyle are the key elements to any diet.

i think pretty much every girl on here who says ANYTHING about themselves is considered an attention whore to you guys :-/

not quite....however many of the things the women of ATOT post have nothing to do with anything but tweaking up the masses here.

I am sure if there were predominantly 'girl' boards that guys could post at, you would see the reverse there.
