Weight Loss and Fasting

Next month is the month of Ramadan. I have to fast from Sunrise to Sunset. I really want to lose weight, as I am around 5'11" and weigh 185. Usually I gain weight during Ramadan, because all I eat is junk food when I'm allowed to eat. What is a good diet to stick to during Ramadan, so I can lose weight? Like what should I eat? I dont want to pass out due to malnutrition or dehydratrion, so it needs to be nutrituous. Any Suggestions?

well, be sure you don't "make up" for lost meals. If you get up early, have a moderate breakfast. Once it's dark, have a something with protein and complex carbs. Drink water throughout the day. And be inspired by the purpose of what you're doing (the religious part, rather than calorie reduction)

try different salads. Like cut up a chicken breast and fry it (using pam spray) real quick, add some spices or sauce and use it for protein on a salad as topping.

Fow the salad, you can cut up lettuce, add cherry tomatoes and sprinkle some feta cheese and balsamic vinegar with olive oil, throw the chicken on and voila monsieur, you have a nice chicken salad, high in protein, fiber and low in carbs and fat.

Bon Apetit.

p.s. mix and match different salad ingredients and you can make a meal out of it.

Also, I cant drink anything, including water. And its not a silly ritual bro, its about religion and what you believe in. This isnt very silly...its to test and renew your faith.

get up early and drink a few glasses of water to stay hydrated -- that will probably help. the discomfort that you experience can put you into an mind state that may help you to focus on your faith (sounds odd, but fasting really does do that for some people). also, drink a lot of water or other non-caloric fluids in the evening to keep hydration levels up. that will also make you feel less ravenous. if you can, plan what you will eat and make sure there is no junk food at hand for you to be seduced by.
