I read in various topics regarding weight lifting and finess here in ATOT, and i saw couple replies stating that weight lifting can stunt your growth?

It is true? If so, how exactly do weight lifting stun ones growth?

edit **hehe spelling correction inside a weight lifting/fitness thread....this is why i love ATOT 🙂**

<< No, that's not true. >>

Weightlifting doesn't STUNT your growth but if you hit your funnybone with a dumbell it may STUN you.😉

yes weightlifting does stunt your growth if it is donw without balance. body building is normally recommended when your body stops growing.

Yes, it's absolutely true. When I started highschool, I was 5'1" tall. I worked out constantly all through school (I'm not really a geek, but a recovering jock). Now, I'm 6'5" tall, yet I know I was supposed to be 7 feet even.

It is in my family which, BTW, is the whole point. Genetics.

<< OK, first of all, "stunt", not "stun". And unless you're doing Mr. Universe calibre lifting, it's a myth.

Just look at how short Arnold is.
