weighing between wanting and needing...

I am going to college in the same town my perants live in. I've just finished my first semester living at home. I did fine in school, but the social absolutely sucked. I didn't feel like a college kid at all.

Here's the dilemma... I've signed a contract to move into an apartment with my buds which the idea is it will be way freaking fun. I'm hoping it will give my social life a boost with minimal effort on my part (I'm a pretty social guy when the social comes to me, but I rarely go out of my way to be social, hence the problem... living at home = no one wants to hang here/ i don't exactly want to be a bumb everywhere else so no social life... in addition to the two jobs and 16 credits that take up my other time)

It's about $1,150 total dollars plus living expenses (groceries mainly) for my apartment for 4 months. 6 roommates, individual rooms for each.

The particular complex im moving into is in rather high demand, and if I wanted I could sell my contract and actually make money on it.

SOOOO... if you made it through reading all that crap, what would you guys do? Is social that important, or should I save the $1500+ dollars? I really don't need the Apt.

please note: by staying at home there is little hope of my desire to be social improving.

ah yes, teh cliffs

1. I sorta want to be social
2. I bought a contract to live in an apt rather than with the parental units
3. my apt is in the same town as the parental units
4. Should I save or attempt a more social lifestyle

There is plenty of time for socialization after you get your education squared away.

Sacrifice today and reap the rewards, tomorrow.

wow...$1250 or four months. thats about a months rent at my college.

i say move out....have some fun. its not that much for rent anways.

imho, only living on campus is worth it and you should do it for your first year. living off campus with your friends is another story....

ya, i'm aware. It's a pretty good deal (relative to other parts of the country) Although it's one of the MOST expensive apartments in the area for the college.

It's sad, because I used to be so excited about moving out, but now the thought of parting with that much money unneccesarily is beggining to hurt.
