Weezer - Make Believe

This cd better than the last two, but nowhere near as good as Blue and Pinkerton. Its still better than most mainstream stuff that gets put out. Sometimes it sounds like Weezer mixed with Phantom Planet, so if you like Phantom Planet I can say you'll probably like this album.

Highlights: Peace, Freak Me Out, and The Other Way

Anyone else have the CD yet? What are your opinions?

I haven't picked this one up yet, but a lot of people have said its closer to blue and pinkerton than the last two. I liked the last two alright, but its really hard to beat blue and pinkerton...and they just sound different lyrically. I miss river's whining about being inept with women.

What's up with everyone comparing it to Blue and/or Pinkerton? Those albums were released 10 years ago with different band members and obviously Rivers and crew have changed. 😉

Anyway, I like it but this is coming from someone who likes practically every Weezer song he's heard. The songs are slower and introspective, but still are catchy like the usual Weezer. Recommended tracks: Perfect Situation, This is Such a Pity, The Damage in Your Heart, The Other Way, Haunt You Every Day. Pretty much the whole album.

Gets 8/10 from me.

Standard Weezer fare, nothing too adventurous...it's had a few loops in the car, but there's so much else to listen to right now.
